WE ARE BALTIC BUMS

We're a group of young surfers who grew up in Swedish surf culture. After years of chasing waves in the Baltic, the spots piled up, and so did the mess. Everything in your head or scribbled in notes, spots saved on random maps, ten forecast tabs open just to figure out if it was worth driving hours. Sometimes you'd think the conditions looked good, drive all the way, and there'd be nothing. Baltic forecasting is a roll of the dice. It's not easy, and we're all struggling with it. But we do it because we love it.

So we built Baltic Bums. One place for everything. Forecast, spots, sessions, conditions, all collected instead of scattered across apps and spreadsheets. We wanted to make it easier to keep track of which spot works when, and to stop losing that knowledge every time we switched tools.

Baltic Bums is not just a forecast tool, we're a surf crew. We're surfers who want to surf, compete, and bring people together. We're trying to build something the Swedish surf community has been missing. A collected place where Baltic surfers can come together. Forecasts, sessions, news, events, everything in one spot.

We want to help organize and spread the word about events, surf movies and competitions. The Swedish surf community is small, and that's exactly why it matters. We want to help bring it together.

Surfing the Baltic is different from surfing anywhere else. The waves are wind-driven, the windows are short, and reading the conditions takes years of experience. Most forecast tools are built for ocean swells and don't work for our waters. It's a hard community to get into if you don't know someone.

That's why we're building this. If you're new to Baltic surfing you shouldn't have to know someone just to figure out when to go. Same tools, same info, doesn't matter how long you've been at it.

Swedish surf has grown a lot, and that's a good thing. But somewhere along the way, it started looking more like a lifestyle brand than a surf community. Expensive gear, luxury aesthetics, and a scene that can feel hard to get into.

That's not us. We are surfers. We paddle out in freezing water, we drive hours for waves that might not show up, and we do it because we love it. That's why we call ourselves Baltic Bums, because that's what we are. Bums who live around the Baltic Sea, chasing waves in the cold.

We love Swedish surf and we want it to stay what it's always been at its core. People who love the ocean, no matter how cold it gets.

Running this costs money, but using it doesn't. Everything on Baltic Bums is free. The forecast, the spot tracker, the session log, all of it.

We sell gear because we need to keep this going. But it's also about the fact that the Swedish surf community is small. Most people don't even know we exist. Wearing a Baltic Bums shirt isn't about fashion, it's about recognizing each other. On the beach, at the parking lot, or just walking down the street. It's not a designer brand. It's surf gear. It says you're one of us.
